Description: This award is given to the wrestler who came out of nowhere to make it to the state tournament.

Breakdown: Perry Meridian's Hruai Lian is this years winner of the Hoosiermat Breakout Wrestler of the Year award. Hruai started wrestling last October and in a litte over a year he has become one of the best wrestlers in the state at his weight class. Having wrestled almost exclusivley on V2 last year, posting a sub .500 record, very few people outside of Perry's room saw this coming. Hyatt Yeager finishes second only due to him having previously been in Center Grove's line-up. Coming in 3rd place is another Trojan, Tyler Schott, who was also on V2 last year. Congratulations to those two and Hruai Lian on reciving this award.
