Sonny Sessa

Crown Point

Description: This award is awarded to the wrestler that we feel improved the most from the start of the season.

Breakdown: We all knew Sessa would end up being good due to his pedigree, but he was taking a lot of lumps in the early part of the season. When the Al smith started, Sessa was 4-5, but finished 4th at the toughest regular season tournament in the state. At the start of the postseason Sessa was 12-12. Then the postesason started and Sessa went on a heater, losing only to a state champion and a super close match against another state qualifer in tie-breakers. The 2nd place finisher for this award is Sessa's teammate Logan Haney. Thrid place was Penn's Josiah Williams. Congrats to Sonny Sessa on winning this year's Hoosiermat Most Improved Wrestler Award.
