Charlie LaRocca

Center Grove

Description: This award is awarded to the wrestler that we feel improved the most from last season.

Breakdown: While Charlie LaRocca was good last year, the jump from ticket rounder to state champion makes him a no brainer for this award. LaRocca only had one loss thios year to an Indiana kid, which was before the New Year, and since then no one has been able to touch him. He beat this years, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 8th placers, which is an insane stat since most guys not only do not get to see that competiton, but to beat all those guys is even more impressive. The two kids who finished 2nd and 3rd both when from having 15 plus losses a year ago to finishing on the podium. LN's Brandon Johnson was under .500 last year and went out at the regional. McNutt had a similar record, slighly over .500, but went out first round of semi-state. Congrats to Charlie LaRocca on winning this year's Hoosiermat Most Improved Wrestler Award.
