Hughes Named WHAC Wrestler of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian wrestling team earned its second consecutive WHAC Wrestler of the Week honoree, as Anthony Hughes was tabbed as this week's receipient fo the award. 

Hughes, ranked No. 13 at 133 and now wrestling down at 125, went 3-0 in the Battle in the Bluegrass Invite to win the championship and help the Knights to a runner-up finish. The senior won two top-25 matches, including a commanding 10-3 win over #5 Matteo Vargo of the University of the Cumberlands.

Hughes and the Knights will compete next on January 9, following their winter break, wrestling at the Missouri Valley Duals.
