Shawn Streck named MIAA Wrestler of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Central Oklahoma's Shawn Streck has been named Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The second-ranked junior heavyweight knocked off No. 1 Lee Herrington of Nebraska-Kearney 8-3 Sunday afternoon to cap off UCO's 21-13 win dual win that gave the Bronchos their third straight conference crown. Streck had two of his his three takedowns in the first period to take control early en route to the victory.
Streck, a returning All-American, is now 19-0 on the season. UCO finished the regular season 13-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in MIAA action.
The Bronchos are off until hosting the NCAA Division II Super Regional IV Tournament Feb. 26. The top-three placers at each of the 10 weights in that tournament advance to the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, set for March 10-11 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
