This weight is one man versus the field here as Perry Meridian’s Alex Cottey comes in as a heavy favorite. The returning state runner-up and defending county champ hasn’t been challenged this year, as all of his matches this season have ended in falls for the Falcon. On the other side of the bracket, we will see Warren Central Sophomore, Carlton Perry and Freshman Kody Glithero of Roncalli battle it out to see who gets a shot at Cottey in the finals.

On paper, this should be David Pierson’s weight to win, as he tries to build from his 3rd place finish a year ago. But don’t count out Lawrence Central’s Antonio Jefferson who beat Pierson only a few months ago. Other wrestlers in the field include Lawrence North’s Anthony Hughes, who has given Jefferson some issues in the past, as well as Perry Meridian’s Andrew Haggarty, who comes in with two losses -- one being a 3-1 loss to Pierson.

Another heavy favorite in this weight class is Roncalli’s Brayden Lowery, as he tries to pick up his 3rd county title in three years. His potential finals opponent should be Warren Central’s Chris Stewart, who is having a great year with a win over returning state qualifier, Tyler Conley of Avon. Stewart’s length could potentially give Lowery some trouble. Logan Gailbrath, who owns a win over #5 at 113, David Pierson, is also in the field.

This weight is a little down this year with the only ranked wrestler being Warren’s Central Jeivan Ross, who was a runner-up a year ago. Sam Slivka of Roncalli, a returning semi-state qualifier, will look to prevent Ross from finishing a step higher on the podium. Another wrestler in the field to watch is Perry Meridian’s Anthony Cotter.

This weight features Roncalli state champ Alec Viduya, as he looks to capture his first county title after finishing 2nd and 3rd in the years prior. Andre Beatty of Warren Central is having a good year as he looks to win his first county title. North Central’s Sebastien Bryant is another tough wrestler in this weight class.

Jarred Rowlett of Warren Central is looking for his second consecutive title after winning the 132 title last year. It won’t be an easy feat as his finals opponent could be either state placer Tyce Freije of Roncalli or Perry Meridian’s Gabe Smith, who are both more than capable of beating the Warrior.

This is the toughest weight in the tournament with several guys with a lot of state experience. Warren Central senior Antwaun Graves looks to get his 2nd county championship, but in his way is Perry Meridian state qualifier Aiden Warren coming off a weekend where he beat #1 at 138, Cayden Rooks. Also in this weight is returning Lawrence Central semi-state qualifier, Terrell Leavell. Furthermore, this could be our first real look at the sophomore hammer from Ben Davis, Diesel Duncan, as he tries to navigate this weight class.

Returning state runner up and two-time county champion, Sammy Fair, is the favorite at this weight and has shown he can go with the top guys after winning a county title at 120 a year ago. In his path to a 3rd county title is Brice Coleman of Warren Central who can go with anyone in the state on any given day.

He looks to pick up his first county title after finishing as a runner-up last year at 170. North Central’s Bradley Harrington is another tough guy in this weight class.

Lutheran’s Hayden Filipovich is the top seed at this weight and will look to get on the podium after missing it last year. On the other side of the bracket are a pair of tough seniors. Devontay Moore from North Central and Jared Clayton from Perry Meridian have notched big wins throughout their careers and will look to put it together and capture a county title.

This is another weight where there is no standout favorite. Dakari Kenny of Pike has the best resume’ in the field but will have his hands full in the semis against Logan Beard, Lutheran, and David Garcia, North Central, winner. This is a loaded weight with six ranked guys in it. Nearly every matchup after the first round will have ranked guys wrestling each other. Returning state qualifier Jamichael Watts makes his return to the mat this weekend and is a slight favorite to take the title. There are several wrestlers though that can prevent him from being on top of the podium. Waiting for him for in the semis will be Lawrence Central’s Darrione Gregory, who has beaten a lot of good guys the past two years. The biggest matchup for the team race will take place between Perry Meridian’s Sam Jones and Roncalli’s John Harris, with the loser being out of the tournament scoring no points. Other wrestlers who can walk away with a title include Franklin Central’s Antone Alexander, Warren Central’s Dennis Hubbard, and Ben Davis’s Muhammad Sidibe.
