Scoring (without bonus):

1st....20

2nd...16

3rd....11

4th.....9

5th.....6

8th.....1

Teams in the Race:

Brownsburg

Logan Miller-1st-20 points

Kysen Montgomery-5th-6 points

Drake Campbell-5th-6 points

Dorian Keys-3rd-11 points

Projected Total: 43 points

What needs to happen:

For Brownsburg to be in contention tow in a title they Keys and Campbell to win big matches. Keys must beat Irick who he has beaten already this season so that isn’t out of the realm of possibilities. The bigger match for them is at 138. For them to have any chance at a title Campbell is going to have to beat Bailey Saturday morning. If he can do this, he not only gives Brownsburg a chance at a title, but also eliminates Cathedral from contention. Miller also has to make the finals and win.

Cathedral

Zeke Seltzer-1st-20 points

Logan Bailey-1st-20 points

Elliott Rodgers-4th-9 points

Tyler Wagner-7th-2 points

Holden Parsons-7th-2 points

Projected Total: 53 points

What needs to happen:

Cathedral has a lot of big matches that need to be won if they want to walk out of Banker’s Life with another state title. Like it was talked about earlier, that match between Bailey and Campbell is huge in the team race. Wagner and Parsons have big matches as well on Saturday. Wagner must beat Sollars and Parsons must beat Swallow. All three of these things must happen, in my opinion, for Cathedral to win a title. We will know if Cathedral will repeat going in the semi-finals this weekend.

Chesterton

Aidan Torres-6th-4 points

Brock Ellis-2nd-16 points

Evan Bates-1st-20 points

Projected Total: 40 points

What needs to happen:

Chesterton is a long shot to win the title or even come away with a trophy. They would have to be lights out and go 3 for 3 and get all 3 into the finals, while picking up some bonus along the way. They would also need 2 or 3 of the other guys to find a way onto the podium. If Chesterton can pull off a few upsets Friday and get DeMarco or Layman on the podium, they would be right there in the hunt.

Crown Point

Sam Goin-5th-6 points

Logan Frazier-5th 6 points

Riley Bettich-3rd-11 points

Stephen Roberson-3rd-11 points

Jesse Mendez-1st-20 points

Orlando Cruz-5th-6 points

Noah Hollendonner-5th-6 points

Projected Total: 66 points

What needs to happen:

Crown Point is in a good spot to win here and may end up doing so. They don’t really anything shocking to walk away with a title. A big match for them is Saturday morning between them and Mater Dei. Mater Dei wins that match and they get a little farther from the rest of the pack. If Cruz, Goin and/or Hollendoner can find a way to get a win Saturday morning it helps them out a lot too. It may just come down to the rest of the field cannibalizing themselves.

Evansville Mater Dei

Cole Ross-2nd-16 points

Alec Freeman-5th-6 points

Ashton Hayhust-8th-1 point

Kane Egli-4th-9 points

Blake Boarman-3rd-11 points

Eli Dickens-2nd-16 points

Gabe Sollars-3rd-11 points

Macartney Parkinson-2nd-16 points

Projected Total: 70 points

What needs to happen:

The obvious match for them is Friday at 182. If Parkinson beats Walker, Mater Dei is in the driver’s seat, but if he doesn’t then their title hopes are all but done here. Sollars has a big one against Cathedral as mentioned earlier. They also have a lot of point left on the table. Boarman could make the finals, or even win it. Freeman could beat Roberson Saturday morning as well. Mater Dei has the highest ceiling of any of the contenders, but also a lower floor than a lot of them. Going into the semifinals they could have this thing wrapped up, or they could be out of it too.

Perry Meridian

Alex Cottey-1st-20 points

Matthew Koontz-2nd-16 points

Aiden Warren- 20 points

Projected Total: 56 points

What needs to happen:

Perry must wrestle to the predictions and get all three guys into the finals, which isn’t a cray possibility. I do not think they have a real shot at winning it, but they could take home a trophy for sure. Perry must bank on the rest of the field cannibalizing itself. They need Walker to beat Parkinson. They need Sollars to beat Wagner, and Campbell to beat Bailey. A lot would have to fall their way for them to take home a trophy this weekend.

Roncalli

Bryce Lowery-2nd-16 points

Brayden Lowery-2nd-16 points

Alec Viduya-1st-20 points

Projected Total: 52 points

What needs to happen:

Like Perry, Roncalli just must show up and do their part. They need the same breaks perry does, and all three of their guys need to make the finals. The only difference here is that Roncalli can win it if everything goes their way. They could have 3 champs. The Lowerys are going to have to do what they do and get falls. It’s a longshot but it is a possibility.

Hoosiermat top 5:

1. Evansville Mater Dei

2. Crown Point

3. Perry Meridian

4. Cathedral

5. Roncalli
